At 92 Dental we offer a variety of different types of fixed brace, according to your needs and personal preference.
Clear Ceramic Fixed Braces
One of the orthodontic treatments we offer are clear fixed braces.
Some people think traditional metal fixed braces look too ‘obvious’’. The clear fixed braces are a great alternative, as they provide all the straightening and alignment benefits with a subtle, ‘barely there’ look.
Why clear fixed braces?
- Subtle, hardly noticeable fixed braces
- Fixed braces are more effective for severe crowding or bite problems
- Quickest predictable results
Clear braces use translucent ceramic brackets, rather than metal, which are fitted to your teeth, helping them blend into your natural tooth colour and appear much less obtrusive.
A new development in clear brace technology is tooth-coloured wires, helping make the brace even less visible. During your consultation we’ll advise you on whether clear fixed braces are right for you. These braces can often go unnoticed when someone sees your smile from afar, however they are not completely invisible.
Lingual Orthodontic Braces
What are Incognito® braces?
Lingual orthodontic braces are attached on the inside of the teeth and are the preferred option for people who want their braces to be truly invisible. They can be used to produce high quality results in cases requiring complex tooth movements.
At 92 Dental, we use the Incognito system which has the following advantages:
- Improved patient comfort
- Less speech interference
- Better quality
- The appliance is fully customised to you
The biggest drawback of lingual braces is that initially they can be more uncomfortable to wear than other brace types and speaking can be difficult to begin with.
Metal Fixed Braces
Metal orthodontic braces are made from stainless steel and have been used for many years. They are the least expensive system and are still very effective. They cannot be removed from the teeth, and require adjusting roughly every 6 weeks by the Orthodontist.
